The Free Internet Chess Server ( FICS )
FICS is a non-profit site, administered by volunteers since
1995.Graphical interfaces for Android, Mac, iPad, Linux and Windows are
made to ease playing, most of them free, and many with extra
features added.Above it is possible to log into FICS with the
Jin
java applet, as guest one can observe and play games, as registered user games will
be ranked and the player will have options to join tournaments etc.After
logging in with Jin very soon the player
will be involved in a game, often fast and unconventional.Below are listed a
few useful commands, to register and for more info go to
FICS home.Allowing popup windows in browser may be needed, if blocked.
